I have recently noticed a small oil leak which is coming from the front of the car. Its light oil, not engine oil and after tracing the possible cause the only source seems to be from the air con condenser at the bottom corner. I,ve been told it could be the 'O' ring seals from the pipe or a small leak at the corner of the condenser.

This all seems strange to me as I thought there would be no oil in this 'radiator' only gas being condensed. It's probably some other source but not sure where. Anybody got any comments

There is oil in the aircon system and aircon condensors are well known for leaking. Does your aircon work? Otherwise look at the power steering reservoir and pipes.

Yes the air con is working fine this is what made me think that the oil could be leaking onto the condenser. The steering reservoir pipes are not oily. Looks as though I'll have to check the 'O' rings which means a recharge of gas! hope this is the cause of the leak otherwise need to fit a new condenser. Price quoted is from £350 to £650 could try Ebay though there is always the risk of a faulty second hand unit.

If the aircon is working it cannot be the "O" rings on the condensor or the condensor leaking, the gas leaves pretty sharpish via any leak and the aircon stops working.
