Hi all I have checked through various posts but can’t find anything.
My central locking works fine when it works but is very temperamental. It’s as if something goes to sleep then will not work until I sometimes do the resync procedure or it feels like it. Key fob lights up and works fine. Any ideas really appreciated guys.

Search door lock micro switch test sheet, it was posted by @brianp38dse not so long ago, also check the white block connectors behind the plastic trim at the base of the A posts, both sides, look for corrosion, the best solution is to cut the connectors out solder and heat shrink the wires. At least you've had 11 trouble free years looking at the date you joined.;):D

Hi, thanks for the reply will have a check. No only had this one a few months and always normally find the answer on here

If you have to re-sync to get it to operate, check the car battery voltage after the car has stood for a while. Also check for wet carpet & underlay in the drivers footwell.

Hi, sometimes it works after a re-sync but seems to have a mind of it own for when it wants to work and for how long. I will check the battery and the carpet. What connectors could be affected in the drivers footwell?

Any of the connectors to the BECM and the BECM itself may be affected by corrosion if the carpet is wet.
The actual FOB receiver has also been know to fail, hard to check without diagnostics or an oscilloscope.

Ok thanks. The part I don’t understand is why it is so hot and miss. I have been out to the car today and the fob will not work at all even after a re-sync

How many fobs are you using? Are the key numbers the same or has the fob been cloned at any point?

I only have the one fob for the central locking and this key does the ignition. I have another key for the drivers door lock that doesn’t have a fob so unsure of the history.

The ignition and door locks are different? That is not normal. Key without fob could be a valet key or a copy.
