The drivers door and boot of my 1996 2.5DT won`t unlock, and the dash displays "Alarm fault". It was OK last night though..could anyone shed any light on this? Fubar`d sensor?

Its a real pain in the arse clambering over the centre console to get to the drivers seat, and I don`t fancy geting raped by an auto electrician...though to be fair I shouldn`t have bought a P38 then I suppose!

Sometimes if the battery is low you get problems with the door locks and funny messages on the display. my battery went low on power and then the door lock motors started to try and lock but had not enough power to do so, this makes the motors get hot then the motor burns out stoping you from using central locking for that door, sometimes both doors burn motors out like mine did, but i also had the added problem of it super locking so this ment i had to use a sharp long handled screw driver and brake the side off the door latch, (think thats listed somewere in this section) then buy a new door latch (very expensive even 2nd hand) then theres the refit. can you unlock by using the key? this link helped me to resink my keyfob so i could gain axcess to the RR its something you coulds try. >>> [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3seI-KU5S1w&feature=related"]YouTube - P38 Range Rover Battery Drain Test - Becm Sleep Test[/nomedia]. hope this works or your going to have to do a bit of overtime at work to get it put right. :D
