Can't open bonnet - driver side wire snapped - passenger side clip will unfasten.

Someone suggested having a hacksaw blade and cutting the metal clip by sliding the blade under the front of the bonnet

Is this possible ?

Don't want to wreck anything else

Any other easy solutions considered
