hi

my p38 4.6 has just started to back fire now and again but not all the time ( My god its load )
this only seems to happen when i run it on LPG
Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this to happen

Is it single or multi point lpg, i got a feeling it's single, mine used to do it when the tank was nearly empty, low pressure in the system and too much throttle, another is plug leads shorting from one to another and causing a plug to fire twice, happened to my 3.9 disco, changed leads no more problem.

I've got an idea - throw away your ****ty single point LPG system and fit a decent sequential system,or just run it on petrol.
Let it carry on backfiring like that and you will soon wreck the air flow meter. The cheap ones on e bay dont work and a proper one is over £700.

when you say sequential do you mean that lpg is timed to engine or just 8 pipes with exits around valve from common manifold
