Think outside, no box required.
pondering on my old P38, making the proverbial list of things needed to get it on the road..

Obviously audio isn't really that important but If i do get it on the road it would be nice to have the long journeys to work not be in total silence..

Has anyone found a work around for the HK system in late P38's or is it just a case of trying to find a S/H Amp and hoping for the best?

thanks
H

Henry, look for Marty's solution. If I remember correctly, he used 4 or 5 HK amps from the earlier system & built them into a box to completely replace the DSP. That way he could re-use the speaker wiring.

What's the issue?
I tried my old head unit and it worked just fine.. bit of a whistle though, think it must have been poorly so put the original one back in

The HK DSP amplifier is unobtainable new & impossible to repair. A Discovery 2 stereo amplifier part number XQK100210 is plug compatible & can even be found brand new. You lose the rear door speakers but front speakers & sub woofer will work.

I haven't got round to fitting it yet but I bought one from here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154504582646
