Hello all

I have used this forum very briefly on a couple of occasions to find things out - most recently the location of the diagnostic socket which surprisingly was not in the car's handbook!

I've had my blue 4.6 Vogue P38 for 3 years now. I get a great feeling each time I jump in and drive it. I find it an amazing mix of comfort, performance, utility, safety, refinement, driving position, and many other things. Mine is a stock version, the only addition being sidesteps (could not imagine the car without them really!) and tinted glass, both of which were on there before I got it, and I am now up to about 95k, having added about 25k in the 3 years since buying it.

I have to also admit that I have registered partly through frustration with a repeating immobiliser problem where my battery loses power and takes the entire car out of commission.

I have read a few articles about this, have followed the handbook instructions, and had determined but unsuccessful recovery guys flummoxed by not being able to resolve, even using their diagnostic laptops and phoning their various techie centres to get support. I realise I am now going OT here, sorry about that, and I will read the related threads and try to post in the appropriate place but in the meantime, if anyone might be able to offer some advice I would be grateful! Basically I am very scared that I am gonna get caught by this problem away from home some time - up until now it has always occurred at home where it's less of a potential problem!

Anyways... on balance over the three years, it's been a relatively small price to pay for owning a genuine dream car. I sometimes shudder to think how I could go back to a 'normal' car after this, I hope to keep on owning one!!

If you've got this far, thanks for reading.

All the best
