I bought a viscous coupling/fan and also the door lock mechanisms for both front doors from eBay. They came off I think a 98 model 2.5TD.

Mine is N reg, so late 95/early 96??

The garage that was going to fit the parts called and said the viscous fan is too big and the lock mechanisms have more plug sockets than mine??

Any idea what's going on, why these parts don't fit? As I was led to believe that 95~01 parts should all be interchangeable?

Thanks

Snap,lol
I bought my door locks off flea bay to The ones i bought have fly leads with sockets on. My door locks dont have fly leads the cars harness plugs straight into them as well I think there were two different types fitted, but im no expert.
Cant comment on the fan bit sorry as i upgraded mine and now use the aircon fans with an adjustable thermostat fitted. Works well for me

Island4x4 shows the viscous coupling and fan for the diesel fit all years of the P38 .... you have not been sold one for the petrol model by any chance?

Sounds like the viscous off a petrol. If your car has aircon, you can install my aircon fans mod and forget the viscous fan.:)

There are two different lock mechanisms for each side (4 if you're a pedant and counting NAS).

Newer locks have the connector at the end of around 4" of cable, older have the plug mounted on the mechanism.

Not sure when they changed over, mine is a 99 and has the short cable.
