Hi All,

I was out in Salisbury Plains on the weekend and noticed the Rangey temp was in the red. Looked under the bonnet and all the fins on the viscous fan had snapped off, also piercing the rad in several places! Rad weld was no good so it was recovered home.

I recall reading on here somewhere that its adviseable to get a genuine parts radiator rather than a cheaper pattern part. Has anyone had any troubles with pattern rads?

With the viscous unit, this was only 5 months old and I still have the old one. Is it possible to remove the fan from the old unit and attach it to the good viscous unit? Its some sort of rivets holding it on.

Any advice appreciated.

hi,sorry to hear about the fan, your best bet would be to fit a kenlowe electric fan kit,it would also save you a bit of fuel in the process as the engine would not have to work so hard driving the standard fan.
