Hi Fellow Land Owners,

I was recently given a new hobby in the form of a P38 :)

Its the 1999 version and has a leak in the high pressure fuel pump. I have the seal replacement kit after much searching. However I have seen many threads on here talking about watching the YouTube video over and over before attempting this. I know this maybe a little daft, but I have not seen the link for this video and I am unsure after searching myself that I am looking at the right video (really don't want to mess it up of course).

Would someone please be kind enough to point me at the correct video for attempting this please?

Many Thanks in advance for your help :)

There is no high pressure fuel pump on the P38, only the Fuel Injection Pump (FIP).
The most common leak is from the top plate and that can often be fixed by nipping up the bolts particularly the one with the security head.
Wash it off with brake cleaner and look to see where it's leaking, no need to give yourself a lot of hassle stripping down further than needed. The top cover can be removed with no problems. the next level down is more difficult and requires accurate scribe lines so it can be put back in the same place. Get it wrong and it can be a problem.

Hi Both,

Thank you so much for the contributions, I really do appreciate it.

I will certainly get some break cleaner and take a further look today. Pretty sure its not the pipes, but with my aging eye's diagnostics can be slow and frustrating :(

Datatek - "the one with the security head."

Ahhhhhhh, now that makes sense why I couldn't get a socket on it, I thought it was strange, time to go scouting for one of those now I guess.

I realise that this sort of stuff has probably been asked a million times on here, but when your a newbie such as myself you can never be sure that you are looking at the same model.

Thanks again :)
