Changed no 8 injector today after few other codes relating to cylinder 8 and restrited injector. Today i got a misfire and code p0248 inj no 8 imbalance. The injector ive fitted is new and not a recon. So this was a bit of a suprise. Anyone had this or got any input. Thanks in advance

I would imagine there will be an injector calibration/Learn required when you fit a new injector as they are software controlled for the multi stage injection pulses. Up to 5 different injection pulses depending on ECU determinations.

Never had issues like this on any car ive fitted a injector to. Give it a few more miles then ill be askung for a refund or replacement.

What diag box of miracles did you derive the DTC from?

Googles suggests that code is a generic turbo wastegate DTC.

To my knowledge, the genuine DTCs of late LRs are 7 characters long, the extra 2 give extra info.

Delphi code reader. Its nowt to do with turbo. Its no 8 injector related. Also worth noting that the tdv8 turbos dont have waste gates

Does your Delphi typewriter do live injector data?
I'm of the belief that the injector needs coding/cal.

This isn't a 1995 Peugeot 309 or Transit DI.

Theres no codes on injector and google searches have confirmed this. Yes i can get live data but still getting head around it. A balance test will confirm if injector is faulty. I already know this.

What i dont understand is the attitude and sarcasm.

Maybe its ive got more knolodge and experience than those who are attempting to diagnose my questions via google and not genuine knolodge and experience. Popcorn or no popcorn im out

No his fit. I just tell it as it is. If i dont know the answer i dont go on google and try being clever and sarcastic to make up for genuine knolodge and translate into google bull. Good job im not stupid enough to beleve the code was wastegate related. That kind of stupidity could of cost some one who dont know better a lot of money. Fortunitly ive been around the block a few times. So chaps go fill your boots.

Me too,

I'm allergic to monkey's.
 Now I'm just sad and hurt :( I'll have to get @holidaychicken and @tomcat59alan out of the cage to play with o_O

On a serious note @Gwe , much though @myfirstl322 can come across a bit odd ( as can we all, on here) and I have had my own handbag contest with him ;) I doubt he is googling answers. A bit like me he sends others to do their own googling. His answers are usually knowledge based.

@myfirstl322 pleeeeeaasseeee tell me you didn't Google this one

Are you sure that the code reader you have bought is fit for the purpose you expect.
If you look up the code that you have specified it is indeed a generic code that most code readers out there would throw up for a host of different makes not just land rover.
I can't speak for your specific model of vehicle as I have no knowledge of it, however having owned a few Land Rovers and used the specific readers for them (Hawkeye/Nanocom)
they usually give a far better description of the fault.
Good luck in your search,
Generic codes covering yours

if you can get scan data you may see a correction value for no8. if its way higher than the others , could it be valve or compression related ?

Genuine knowledge you want now, jeez, some folks!!

Also Mr smarty f**king pants, try googling the code that you wrote as your thread title, see what you come up with?

I'd love to believe you've been around the block, but i'll take some more convincing really.

I'm sure Mr Gwe has investigated the common possibility of mass oil ingestion via the intercooler and/or the an EGR coolant leak with similar causation.
