Hi I've just changed my power steering pump and its working fine . But i can't say I noticed to making any noise before , but now it's obvious its working when under load or on by-pass on full lock , as hydraulics do i.e. on plant etc . Now this may well be because I'm listening , where as before I wasn't taking any notice .
Whilst road driving its fine no noise .
So I don't think I've damaged the pump i.e. running it dry or anything like that .

Possibly im just paranoid

Has it got the correct oil ? And it’s unwise to turn so hard that your constantly blowing the pressure relief valve

Ta for that folks ..Think this DEF is out to get me ... . Im not holding it on full lock for long , just when your manoeuvring and go on full lock momentarily , and know your there but can hear the by-pass . No more than the recommended bleed sequence say to hold for , far less in fact .
yep correct oil . DEXRON 111
