Just picked up my first Freelander 2.. she's been sat a while. Has 78k and full service history.
Drove back at 70 using cruise control. 2hrs on parked at services and when we went to get back in I accidentally pushed the hazard alarm button (oops?) and couldn't turn it off for a good 2/3 mins so it was going off a while. Got back in and started up with the transmission fault.. cruise control etc won't work.
What do I do?! Ergh :-(

Does it drive without Cruise control? If so I sugest you drive it home and get somebody to read any fault code on Monday

The battery could be low or past it's best. Strange faults often appear when starting with a low or failing battery.

We tested the battery.. fully charged and it seems to be brand new looking at the service history and according to previous owner. He hasnt ever had any problems but its been sat for months and never been off road. Going to get the code red next week unless i can find someone else local as land rover are charging £150 for a code to be red! Usual mechanic thinks its either the haldex pump or just a code when the battery ran low.

If the battery was low, that can generate a code.
Why not put the £150 LR charge for the code read towards a Gap Diagnostics IID BT code reader. It's massively superior to anything else for a LR, including LR's own diagnostic equipment.
