Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has any advice. Of course after a day offroading the radiator is full of muck and the drive home becomes a bit of an overheating problem.

Now I know the solution is to jet wash the rad before leaving, but so many times the thing either isnt working or there isnt one.

My viscious fan is a bit sloppy, which doesnt help, so I was going to get that replaced or do you think an electric fan is a better option? I know that it isnt going to help that much with a blocked rad, but it needs all the help it can get.

so what do folks do. I cant be the only one having this problem?

cheers

First off I don't jetwash the rad .. at least not directly, I make sure I have some water to run through it use a hoofpick/brush (like these off ebay 380224973060) tp get the worst off.

Second, make sure the oil cooler part of the rad gets most attention and is clean .. ;)

thanks. Will get some of those brushes, they look ideal to get most of the muck out.

I have a rad muff fitted. If I'm gonna drive through anything that's likely to clog my rad I can just drop it down and then roll it up again after.
