Hi All,

Been a member of the Landy Zone forum for a number of years, and found the forums to be quite helpful, but never before introduced myself.

Lived in Blackburn, Lancs, until 1970, then emigrated to South Africa, and now living in Midrand, about 35 kms from central Johannesburg.

Got a '96 Disco 1 with 300d engine and manual box, and a '01 Freelander TD4 with auto box (the wife's vehicle) as "leisure vehicles", both of which I enjoy to drive, but not the most reliable vehicles as both are well in excess of 150 000 kms.

Now retired from full time work, and unfortunately as parts (and dealer labour rates) are expensive here, all repairs are "do it yourself" as far as possible, hence the dependence on forums such as Landy Zone.

Good to be a part of the "Zone" and thanks to all for the technical support posted to the site, by the way an Ou Toppie is an old person, maybe in years and body, but not in spirit
