Went over to Denholme Quarry yesterday (about a 1 hour drive), had a look roound on foot and found a pretty knarly rocky slope and thought id give it a try...
Drove to the foot of it and checked tank clearance etc, and decided the best approach would be to 'bounce' up the bottom part of the steep to get the wheels up.
So bounce i did, only to hear a frickin awful buzzing grinding sound all the way to the top. I got out to see the damage expecting to see summit hanging off the underneath, and saw that my left hand rear trailing arm was U shaped, and the wheel was about 6 inches further forward than it should be, and the opposite one 6 inches back!

So i had to drive home like crab with the wheel at 3 oclock!

I took it to the local mechanic who sorted me out with some Rangy arms, which are about twice the diameter of the weedy Defender ones, fitted them, all at 7 oclock on Easter Saturday! So i managed to go up to Newcastle Sunday.

All in all pretty chuffed! Fun and games!
