Hi all

Im interested in changing out the old steering wheel on my 1987 90 to a newer style - immunsure as to wht spindle count etc im looking for on the replacement - can anyone point me in the right direction please?

remove steering wheel. Count the fooking splines FFS tin't rocket science is it????

Changed mine on my defender - bought the steering wheel and correct boss from the forum sponsor "defender bits"

Even has a guide to work out which boss you need

If you have a 4 spoke steering wheel you will have 36 (I think) If you have the 2 spoke steering wheel you will have 48 splines

The boss and steering wheel bolt together and are well made too

Have a look at the boss when it comes. If it has two little grub screws in the middle return it. It's works loose all the time and Monterey who make them say dodgy batch.

Should look like this if so ok

Thanks for the responses -

well done those of you that couldnt be constructive - seems simple to ask about this I know, but im at home with a 3 week old trying to work out things for my project between sleep etc.
Im new to defenders and options on replacement steering wheels etc does not seem that obvious to me as I only got into this as a hobby and im still learning...

For those that did manage to say something apart from a smart ass wise crack or ref my poor typing skills, I appreciate your help, ta
