Just that it says on the tin that this is a castor based oil for race engines and should not be mixed with mineral oils.
If it's good enough for old race engines then it should be ok for the v8, maybe I'll put it on ebay and someone can shove it in an old Norton or summat:)

:D yes

castrol "r" was used in race engines on motor bikes ie manx nortons, ajs 7r,matchless g50, the only roadgoing bike which used castrol ,to the best of my knoledge was the b s a gold star ;db32,db34+dbd,castrol r has superb lubricating qualitys but its 1950s 60s racing engines it has no cleansing qualitys whatever due to it being changed after every race if i remember rightly on gold stars it was supposed to be changed every 1k miles.gordon bennet fancy having to recall this stuff after 44 years ,my head hurts ffs.....dave

Oulton Park used to stink of it after saloon car racing in the sixties if I recall.
Might just shove some in the tank as an upper cylinder lubricant then. I will be changing the oil regular though as the engin will only be doing about 3 track days a year which is only about 600 miles. Dont fancy wreckin the engine but will it be ok on tractor oil as is what I is usin now. Not payin 30 quid a gallon for lables anyway..:)
