Hi all. I am registering for one of my sons and myself. He has been given, by my eldest son a pile of November 1983 series 3 parts.
Consists of a new galvanised chassis,working engine,rebuilt gearbox, stripped down front and rear axles. Also new pivot pin assembly and parts including most bearings and gaskets.
He was doing a front brake mod to disc brakes, these parts were supplied by Heystee.
He said we needed defender callipers for the discs.
Most body parts are here except for floor panels.
He was doing a mod on the rear axle and had it welded accordingly but told me the parts are no longer available, so I will be looking for a replacement casting eventually.
We have the series 3 parts manual and a LR pdf assembly guide.

I have no experience with landrovers but I rebuilt a Vauxhall engine many years ago and refitted clutches etc. I have not done any work on cars for over 30 years.
Will be asking many questions in the future about this to help us in our rebuild.
Last thing, the engine was last run about three years ago but turns over by hand ok.
