Hi guys I am looking for someone with an old defender who would like to earn a few quid with helping me sort my best mates stag do out. I would like someone to pick us up in poole and then a lift to Bournemouth airport on a Friday early evening towards the end of September. If anyone can help or recommend anyone it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Martyn

It would only be picking me and the stag up from his house, to Bournemouth airport. 30 minute drive. His father had one when he was growing up and this is where his love of them comes from. I was hoping for a more positive response than this but I guess people aren't too trusting nowadays. Thanks anyway

It would take more convincing than do ya wanna make a few quid.

A desire to help out someone who is willing to put in the effort of explaining why it's important would be a much stronger motivation....

That and hostages :D

Maybe they dont have taxis in his area ?....and just how many drunken yobs do you reckon fit in a defender !

What you may not understand is that Landrovers, Defenders especially, are pretty damn special to most owners. They are also reasonably valuable, easy to steal, easy to part out for parts and spares and appreciating in value all the time. Many of us spend much time, not always money, working on them and then try to keep them locked up securely.

If people knew you it'd be a no-brainer, but some unknown chap rocking up and just asking out of the blue with no background or detail other than stag do blokes on friday night to the airport doesn't sound too well ... There's every chance you're honest and being straight about it, but it's also much easier to see why people need a little more convincing .. ;)
