I've just bought my first D3, a 55 plate SE Auto. Very please with it so far etc etc, however,

The steering wheel has the red and green phone buttons and there is a phone on/off button on the premium radio (6cd), but when I turn on bluetooth on my phone and do a search I don't find any devices!!!

If I press the red green or on off buttons, I just get the "Phone not connected message"

The car also has voice recognition, I can store names and numbers in the addressbook of the car, but if I try to dial out get the same "Phone not connected" error.
There is a physical connection in the centre console, but the phone will not fit.

What do I need to do? Please help.
I have tried search with the engine running, same errors.
Thanks

And there was me thinking that this forum was populated with helpfully people !!!!

I have read the land rover owners manual, and there is no mention of how to use the bluetooth. However there is loads of people talking about upgrading their BT and how to intigrate their phonebooks etc etc and I want to join in the fun

Hi there DM, I'm not familiar with D3 but I would like to help.

With Bluetooth as you know both devices have to have BT enabled and operating. Do you have a facillity in the cars' system for it to go searching for other devices, rather than asking your phone to search.

I had a D2 with Parrot BT and if I searched with my phone, no connection was established but if I search with the Parrot BT, it would find my phone and initiate communication.

Cheers, sorry I couldn't be of more assistance

Hi

I've just bought a RRS which i suspect has the same bluetooth as you have in the D3. My phone found Land Rover when it searched and connected so you're going to have to dig a bit deeper!

I got lots of info regarding the set up from here;

Another helpful forum!

Good luck.

from what you have said I dont think you have a bluetooth system?
why would there be a physical connection if it was bluetooth.
you may be able to just change the cradle to fit your phone

The physical connection charges the phone. Also not all phones are bluetooth so you may need the connection.
