Its difficult to turn the car around outside the house. So Mrs Grumpy drives in forward up the drive and we have to then reverse out. I reverse in so we can then just drive straight out.

In true Land Rover style, the L Series really marks its territory - so as the car is parked pointing in different directions, it marks 2 areas.

Today, I rather cocked up my approach and ended up 1/2 a car distance to far over as seen in the pic.

Now I know the answer is to fix the leaks, doh, but until I get a round tuit (its only been 13 years), will it damage the tyres parking on the oily mess?

OK @Alibro - I know, i know, your suggestion will be to ditch the durdy diesel

Of course if your too lazy to fix the damn thing then maybe a tray under the car.
We had an ancient horse lorry that loved to mark it's territory so I took a piece of thin flat steel and bent it into a tray big enough to do the job.

That's what the engine undertray is for - empty it every year at the service!!

Where is oil coming from GG? May be an easy fix. Are you topping up the bit leaking? If not then the leak will stop, but not in a good way !!

It won't damage the tyres in the short term.

Under the bonnet somewhere

Actually probably numerous locations under the bonnet.

TBH its so messy under there, always has been, its difficult to know where its coming from.

The first job is to get it on the hoist at work and give it a good clean to then see where its leaking.

I think its a bit like spilt milk - a little goes a long way, levels don't really drop that noticeably.

As long as they're not Italian tyres you should be ok. All their rubber/chrome components seem to perish/rust in minuets.
