At the weekend I found some black engine oil in the turbo pipe which leads down to the air cleaner on my 86 defender 90, on closer inspection I found the air cleaner element completely covered in the black stuff, what has caused this do you think, any info please so I can get it sorted thanks Geoff.

19j by the sounds of it... Mine didn't even have a filter in cos so much oil was going through..

My 200TDi is the same and thats just been overhauled. Seems normal!

Stick an oil catch tank in the breather pipe 20 quid of e bay, keeps my 200 filter and pipework spotless.
