where are they to put it bluntley...? looking at my engine there is a little triangular sender that is just to the right of the top hose from the rad..next to the thermostat. i took it off and there is water under it like there should be.. but when i connect the lead to the gauge it just goes straight to super hot even when the engine is not running this may be a faulty sender if so where can i get this sort from?. there is another sender (a round one this time) that is on the left of the engine just infront of the first spark plug.. i think this is oil and the other the water but i really dont no as i am new to land rovers, they may both be water but it would seem a bit silly to have two senders reading the same thing. i could take some pics and put them up if you dont see what i am rambaling on about.. but if you could tell me which is which that would be great..

cheers yannis

here they are... the triangular one is the water one i think and the round one is the oil... but im not sure... the easyest thing to do is unscrew the round one and see what comes out... if these are both water where is the oil temp sender?

oil pressure is on yer filter dunt think you have a oil temp one..

ah think, if memory serve right, that one is for temp gauge and one fer a warning light.

my friend has a light weight and that has both water and oil temp.. i had a look at that and could see the round sender but no triangle one... maybe the oil temp one is hiding some where...??

i have just had a look in the manual and it seems to me that they are both water... so where is the oil temp sender? if there is one at all?

Is the triangular one not a switch rather than a sender?

In fact, I think it is a device to tell you when the water level is dangerously low.

What engine is it? Exactly what engine .... because a low water warning device is not all that common.

And BOTH of them are in the cooling water, not the oil.

pic 1 and 3 = the littel triangle one is for the Choke warning light.

Comes on when the water is up to temp.

Pick 2 = is the water temp sender for a normal temp guage.
