Went to check one of my wheel bearings tonight and found this...

Reckon my oil seal's pretty goosed then?
;) :D

thats what mine was like when i went to adjust the bearings last week :D i thought it was just well packed with grease!

that looks Ok, :)that's why you have the member gasket so that doesn't escape from hub bearing and the cap on the nose of the member. If the hub seal was damaged it wouldn't be leaking here, it would be leaking all across the back face oy your brake disc

Aye cheers Griff and jonp;) :D Just had a roastin' off a mate and he says 'it's meant to be there, how else would the bearings get greased!!!!'
Doh!!! Ah didn't know:eek: ;) :D
Oh well, better go and top it up again ;)

Shudda let yer do all yer seals..............then let yer find they looked jest the same.....................er, if peeps on LZ were mean bastids o' course. :D

Even if it was yer one shot or wot ever from yer swivels I wunt have bin in a hurry to do the seals, just look at it as extra lubrication till it starts coming out of the end od yer driving member flangy thing.

If the rubber cap wasn't on the end grunt, it would've cos it was full anaw:eek: Just going to top it back up, so will see what it's like now;) :D

Thats wot the caps for to stop stuff gettin out an other stuff from gettin in. If it is swivel stuff then I'd leave it fer a sunny day if we ever have one.
