leaking front seal out of transfer box on S3 . ordered a new one (Paddock) yep and you guessed it they sent the wrong thing again. They sent me one which is 2" dia and the one i removed is 2.5". called them and some bloke assured me its the right one nd the only one they sell for the front of the transfer box and i must have an one. can anyone tell me if the output shaft on the transfer box changed throughout the Series LR's cos i think this bozzo is wrong?

they sent me one marked 35-50-10 which apart from being way too small is also metric and clearly not of LR origin.
I have removed a seal which is marked 250-161-16-4b
250 being 2.5" and 161 being 1.61".

Sorry, can't help with those numbers.
I reckon the LR part number was FRC1780, but I don't have access to supersessions, so it may have changed.
Not surprisingly it's the same as the rear one behind the handbrake.

I wouldnt bother with paddock they are crap. i've had all my seals off land rover and they were dirt cheap the diff and transfer are all the same if i can remember.

they werent on my S3.

diff seals were part number frc4586. Rear Tbox seal was part number frc1780. T|hats the same as DaveC mentioned above.

Aye wot whoeveritwas sez about Haddocks seals. Take yer owld un to a bearing an seal stockist an get a decent one, it might cost more but it'll be cheaper in the long run. Just fer interest try getting a price for the OEM one from your local Landy place you might be surprised.

They do have some uses but OEM stuff int always as expensive as you might think.
