hi all,
I am in the process of a complete rebuild on my disco 200tdi. I stripped and cleaned the oil pump this afternoon for inspection and both the gears are worn and have minor pitting. However, the casing also has light scoring on it. You can just about catch it with a finger nail. My problem is that I don’t want to put a britpart pump in a ‘like new’ engine but I am a little concerned about the scoring on the pump casing itself. I’m tempted to get a turners rebuild kit and put all new internals in the original casing but was just wondering if anyone has seen inside other 200tdi pumps. Am I fretting over nothing? I’m used to seeing hydraulic pumps with mirror like walls so this looks terrible in comparison. Oil pressure was about 25psi at idle when warm before rebuild. What’s your thoughts?
Thanks
