Y'know the bits at the front and the back of the cylinder head that are used to lift the engine out (don't know what they are called. handles?!)?
Well the one at the back is bent round badly enough to stop me getting the oil pipe off the cylinder head.
My question is can you just take it off? or are the bolts holding something else together too? Sorry if this is a simple question but I'm new to this series malarky and I don't wanna cock it up. It's a 2.25 petrol btw.

Aye, then bang them flat and put them back in, so that you or some other poor sod doesnt curse when they come to take that engine out.

Easily removed and safe to do as have done mine today for a slight steaming problem
