Hi i have a 2003 freelander 20 TD4 it has oil coming out of the hole in the dip stick. It doesn’t come out under presser. I have been told it could be small gorse filter blocked but was not told where. Is there anyone out there that could tell we if there is such a filter and if so where Thanks GF

Filter in dep valve housing in front of air filter (to front of car) often just as well to fit complete unit they are not too expensive and easy enough to do. If not had an air filter lately might as well do it too as cover off.

do a search for crankcase breather filter. although the filter is gauze, it's primary function is as an oil separator.

there is a bmw part which is a direct replacement (about £24), and never blocks as it's not made out of gauze.
