Hi, I have an oil leak under my l322 4.4tdv8 2012. I can visually see the leak but unfortunately I’m not mechanically minded enough to know the part name of where it’s leaking from. Any help with the part name, drivability and any rough idea of the repair cost would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Looks like it's coming from the joint between the engine and gearbox from your photo. In which case, it's either the engine crank oil seal or the gearbox input shaft seal. I presume the car doesn't have a dipstick so you cannot closely monitor the engine oil level?

Thanks so much,it’s a digital reading unfortunately. I’m guessing in both scenarios it’s going to be quite an expensive fix?

I would remove the black bung and have a look for oil in side the bellhousing, but to me that looks like its coming down from the left, oil will allways run down so look up high first as to were it is coming from as you are seeing the drips about to drop

The tdv8 is known to leak from 2 "O" rings at top rear of the V back of the oil filter housing and run down onto bell housing, you need to remove heater plenum housing look down back of engine for a silver pipe, (sorry chaps and chapesses but got to mention that other forum again) have a look on fullfatrr in wiki section there is a how to on there . (Note to self it would have been quicker to switch laptop on to reply than trying to do it on my phone!)

Had a leak like that last year.
Try to clean it off and see if its coming down the left side of the engine (stood looking from the front) which it seems to show on your pic.
As above there are some O rings that fail but ours was at the oil cooler itself which is in the V at the top behind the oil filter.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I’m going to investigate over the weekend starting with the two O rings and the oil cooler.
