hi all
working on hippo today and noticed oil on the bulkhead and staining the underneath
its not leaking enough to spot the floor but its making a mess underneath
under the bonnet cant see anything
the oil must be leaking from the back of the engine somewhere
any ideas?
cheers all

no bud
no sumpguard it looks like its on drivers side somewhere coming from high up and running down bulkhead

Mine leaked in that area from a bolt on the turbo. I think it was one of the return pipe bolts. Had it done once but it came loose again so had to have it done again. It's been fine for a couple of years now though

ill have a look the weekend

just another issue
is there a difinitive test to locate a worn bearing?
it starts as soon as you pull away not intrusive but can be heard
i think its from the back
my mrs says its from the front and my mate cant hear it
i dont fancy changing every bearing looking for it:(

I'd like to know the answer to that one too - as it isn't really possible to free-wheel each wheel bearing on a Hippo. I guess all you can do is to listen to work out whether the noise gets worse on cornering?
