Evening all,

Long time lurker, great forum, first post!

So, I’ve scoured the threads first, spent many hours in the engine bay like most of us but to no avail so hence the post for help.

“The problem”

I have engine oil ( I assume ) spraying up onto the bonnet roof. The thickest amount of oil spray on the bonnet is directly above the oil filler cap but the cap this is intact and clean. (See images).

I’ve read the issue might be the vacuum pump and gasket so as such both were replaced. This didn’t fix the issue.

Today I’ve removed the hoses and water pump and installed a new one along with new gaskets.

The oil spray across the top of the bonnet still appears much to my delight.

I’ve checked the injectors across the top and had 2&3 replaced recently so I’m satisfied it isn’t leaking here.

The hoses in the engine bay don’t show any obvious signs of leaking. The ‘oil spray’ only seems to appear when under load.

Below the water pump area is the where the biggest concentration of oil is spreading. The fresh oil seems to collate on the left hand part of the chassis just next to the oil filter housing.

I understand the viscous fan won’t help this situation.

Coupled with this the exhaust is depositing mostly white with the odd hint of blue similar to a tanks smoke screen to give you an idea of how much smoke there is. When at operating temperature this then disappears and runs ‘normal’.

Coolant wise it has fallen recently but not a great deal.

The other image is of the right hand side of the bay and doesn’t really have any oil further back.

No loss of power, drives great.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Is the belt flinging the oil up there? ie it is leaking from the front of the engine and not the top.

Afternoon all,

Thanks for the pointers. News just in.

Talc I believe has solved my location issue.

I’ve not done much in terms of researching what this part is or how to replace it?

I know it’s behind the deflector pulley.

Pictures attached for reference to aid someone in the future. The images are from the font and this is directly to the left of the vacuum pump and water pump housing.
