There are not a whole lot of places near there where oil can come out. There's a pipe from the fuel pressure regulator that screws into the head just above the alternator. This is where fuel returns to the regulator after having been in the gallery in the head. There's also the rocker cover gasket of course, as well as the socket where the injector loom goes into the head, which is also on that side of the engine. So that could be leaking too
On TD5s the oil pump lives in the sump. It's built into a kind of undertray that bolts onto the crankcase, underneath the crankshaft but above the sump. The pump gears are towards the other side of the engine, so I doubt if it is anything to do with that.

ok so the oil pump if more tradition and up in the oil pan... is there anything oil related that is mount on the front of the alternator?

that's what I'm wondering... my oil level never goes down... does that have its own oil supply?
It only takes a few drops to make a mess, which is a very small amount compared to what you've got in the sump. On mine, the difference between the high and low marks on the dipstick is at least a litre, so with a small leak you wouldn't notice it.
