Vehicle is running ok, but when I went to check the oil level which was just under the top mark I also checked the water level in the expansion tank
and found it full of engine oil not water. Have you any idea what could be the problem. Car starts no problem, no smoke out of the exhaust and no loss of power. No over heating but only driven 5 miles each way a day to work. Only done 70000mls with service history, water pump and cambelt at 60000mls and is a 2007 Freelander 2. Any thoughts on what could be wrong ?
Kind Regards

Welcome to landyzone laughing dentures. Would be worth popping over to the Freelander section for a better answer.

Is it fitted with an oil cooler? The one on my defender (different vehicle I know) is in the oil filter housing, the internal seals failed and oil (being at higher pressure than the coolant) leaked into to the coolant and finished up in the expansion tank.
