Hello

Having followed some very good advice to replace the Injector harness in my 2000 Defender 90 TD5. I have subsequently discovered the ECU compartment under the driver's seat has a reasonable quantity of old manky oil in it and the red ECU plug is weeping oil . I have cleaned out plug with solvent etc but I have a number of questions:

- Do I need to consider replacing the Engine Harness (expensive and difficult)?

- Is the oil likely to have migrated into the ECU - again advice on replacement or options.

- Having replaced the injector harness will the oil ingress stop and will the remaining oil migrate from the wires - is there anything else I can do.

- Vehicle has not yet started successfully but I am waiting 24 hours with the ECU plug out and drying.

Any help or advice gladly received.

A very common issue

If you search 'oil in ecu' you'll get loads of threads advising on how to clean up (if damage not already caused to ecu) and importantly how to reduce the liklihood of it happening again

Some guys use silicone around the grommets I beleive
