Hi All,

My Disco 2 currently runs 255/55/18 but I want to get a set of off road wheels that I can throw on when needed, can anyone recommend which size/tyres would be best? I understand that the wheel may have to be a 16" but what tyre size then? Also I want to use on mud so any suggestions.

That done, where's the best place to buy them??!!??

Many thanks.

if the stud placing etc is the same just get a set of steel ones orf a series or defender. that way if you bash em you can knock it back into shape wiff yer hammer

Theres a nice programme here to give a comparison between sizes

Tire size calculator

As for which tyres, what sort of use are you planning on putting them to? Mud, all terrain or a mixture of both?

I won't reccomend a tyre company but I would recommend that you steer clear of Nene Valley Tyres, they messed me aboput something rotten and then supplied a spare that was illegal.

There are many alloy wheels in 16" size on ebay for the Disco2 (more than Disco1), it would be easy to buy a set off there with tyres already fitted.

is the pcd the same on the disco 2 as the disco 1, ive got a set of 4 disco 1 steel rims for sale if yer interested ;)

Ok everyone, thanks for the advice on the wheels, I want tyres that will suit mud as I want to off road now!!!

I was driving past a lay-by the other day that was 'REALLY' muddy and I thought, " on my way back past, i'm going through that"
Needless to say, on road wheels and tyres I got well and truly stuck, I wont tell you what pulled me out!!!

After driving Landys for 10 years in the army I should have known better!!!

There have been a few problems with the Grizzly Claws and based on the engineers report that I saw I wouldn't trust them.
