Hi,
i would like to put new rims and tires for off roading (casually) and i'm wondering what size can i go without lift kit ?
I have a 2005 Freelander TD4 3 door.

thanks !

Tyre availability depends on the rims chosen. However at a rule, a standard FL1 will take a tyre up to 30" in diameter, with a width of about 235mm. The suspension gets in the way more than the body, so lifting the body won't necessarily allow larger tyres, without changing wheel offset.

If you go 17” rim, then 225/65/17 fit fine on a standard FL1 - no issues. I run Geolander GO15’s on mine.
I wouldn’t go any bigger on a 17”… as Nodge says, they’ll run too close to the suspension.

Thanks guys !
i dont mind changing the offset.. I was thinking about modular wheels or similar, like 15" or 16" with all terrain tires.
But i don't want the wheel to rub into the chassis or the suspension
