Just finished doing a revision of my back brakes...

Now I see oil drips under mu sumpguard...

It drips right in de middle, It is normal oil ( so not from gear box)

It drips right on my exhaust ( smellly when at stoplight)

Does a 1.8 have Sump ( carter) ventilation or so.

any ideas where to look. Hope it is not my main rear seal.

and incase rear main seal would something like bar's leak fix it...

thanks

Would be betterer for you to remove the guard and see where it's coming from. The guard has a habbit of carrying the oil away from the leak, to trick you.

just had a closer look, mechanic says it is gearbox fluid. It is comming from the connection between the engine and the gearbox?

any ideas

thanks

If you have a manual gearbox and gearbox oil is leaking from the bell housing then I would have thought that the front gearbox oil seal was leaking (where the primary/first motion shaft leaves the gearbox). Some gearboxes (not sure about LR) also have gaskets that can leak at the front of the gearbox so perhaps it could also be one of those that is leaking.
