so I just got my P38a a week and and I tried my local lr dealer in Stirling for a radio code but because it’s not from there, they couldn’t help. I looked at the original plates and it had shields lr in Glasgow. I contacted them and they were very helpful. I emailed them a copy of my V5 last night and today I received my radio code and my eka code. Put the code in the tranny [thats transistor radio for those not old enough] and I was absolutely amazed with the quality of the sound from a 19 year old unit. Harmon kardon speakers with an alpine head unit and a 6 disc multi changer. Thoroughly well impressed and no need for an upgrade!,,

Yes those older units can be very good.
I’ve got an older Alpine unit in my 110 with upgraded speakers and a sub in the battery box, and it’s superb.

The Harmon kardon system was an expensive up grade when they were new, nearly 2k iirc.
mines got the 10 speaker set up with 6cd changer an amp and base in the boot it is good:D

Mine got fake panels in rears only some speakers in them, mids I think?. The ones on there work great at 25 has all the ones in the front
reception on certain stations can be tricky. There’s an antenna upgrade for that.

I dunno how many speakers I have but I’m sure I read yesterday that my cairngorm edition had Harmon kardon as standard. Am waiting to see if lr get back to me with info I requested

The up grade one had 10 in the doors 3 front tweeter by mirror and two lower down the rear doors have 2 each then the big sub woofer in the back, some special models had an extra one in the center of the dash top instead of the allsortment mat.
and were not all mad here but it helps:p
