I recently bought a D900 Version 2012 scanner on ebay, thinking it could be a useful bit of kit as it claimed to be able to read and reset the fault codes on any vehicle with an OBD port.
I have used the EAS unlock via my laptop with some success and have also connected with a Sync-Mate that got me going beautifully after weeks of tearing my hair out, so I know that the port is working, but I can't get any joy at all with this scanner - It just keeps saying that it can't establish a connection with the vehicle (it does draw power to the scanner display though). That was on the P38. I also have a 2002 L322 TD6 and got the same non-result when I tried to connect to that.
Just in case it might be the scanner that was duff, I connected it to a VW Sharan that we have, and that connected OK and gave me live data and read the faults (even though there weren't any) and went through the fault clearing process.
I'm stumped now - perhaps the Rangies just aren't compatible with the scanner.
Can anyone shed any light?
