Hi All,
I'm into my second year of owning my FL1 TD4, loving it.
Anyways, MOT passed this year without any problems, but recently starting to get knocking noises from front end small pot holes etc, you get the picture....As a novice, I'm wanting to get my hands dirty without having to shell out on a mechanic & start with the drop links.

First problem I've come across is when looking to order bits online I need to ensure that its the right fit, i.e. chassis number etc.
I've attached the plate from mine, can anyone explain to me what I'm looking for & what the figures/letters mean.
I'm sure it will help out a few others in the future.
Thanks in advance.
Steve.

Part Numbers may be used across the entire Freelander production - and I believe the drop links are one of those. If you look at this site it gives you the part number...

Some times parts are model year dependant and will be applicable to VIN number ranges. I believe that is the last 8 digits of your VIN number.

Your chassis number or VIN to use it's official title is the bit between the asterisks.

The link that Hippo gave you above, will tell you what it all means. ;)

Oh and drop links are the same across all years and models of FL1. ;)
