I've just realised that I'm missing a plastic shroud thing around my foot pedals. What's that plastic drum thing left of the engine? I think your landy is nice, but they're a personal thing, and once you fall in love with your own, it's hard to be in love with another one, so I suppose anything I say about it will be negative. I've had mine a year now. I've seen perfect ones and I've asked myself: "Would I swap?". The truth is, I wouldn't, just as I wouldn't swap my 12 year old nightmare of a collie who has halted my life for the same 12 years (well ten cos I was diddled with him when he was two). If feedback is what you want (and I'm no expert), I don't like your cracked front window rubber seal, your trunk exhaust with the window washer tube going up it, your chequered plate (though the div I bought mine off did the side sills with it). I don't like your centre cup holder box and I don't like bucket seats. I don't like your deer-eye blinders because I don't like people who kill animals, and your front winch thing is only good for tree loggers or husbands with wives who have really **** cars that break down a lot. I definitely do not like rubber duck aerials, but I think your tyres are nice. It looks a bit rusty down the passenger side? It looks like you've upgraded the side lights, but you need steps to get in it. Some people might like the white roof and not be bothered about dents. Just saying what I see on your ebay advert. I'd be asking for pictures of the rear (naturally - some might say on ere).

The 'plastic drum thing' is a 300tdi air filter and the 'trunk exhaust' is a raised air intake with extended breather pipes

Does the latter get rid of condensation on the windows quicker? Much as I think they're more a younger generation thing, I would put one on if it stopped the early morning bind of not being able to see owt (and the drips from my sunroof glass). I don't fancy a chinese fan cos putting pipes from your exhaust into the car is a bit carbon monoxide risky to me.

Sometimes when you don't know your arse from your elbow it's better for everyone to leave your keyboard alone and sit on your hands

It looks like somebody has spent a lot of money on it. If you remove the lift, get rid of the snorkel and winch, delete the spotlights and put it on road tyres, it would be worth £5k.

It's not everybody's cup of tea I agree, as I said earlier, you like what you like. The beauty is with Defenders is, as you point out, you can remove (or add) kit/spec as you wish, though if you wanted a 'standard' Defender you'd probably be better of buying a standard one in the first place. Worth £5k? Its worth what someone is willing to pay for it, hence the auction format.

Personally if I was in the market for a tratter I'd be more than happy with yours ;)
Unfortunately I like air conditioning :D

It took me a year to find a Defender 90 300 tdi that hadn't been messed about. Good original spec Defenders are increasing in value. Modified motors are a pain to insure, more likely to be nicked and difficult to sell. I wasn't joking or being flip with my post, I would remove the mods, sell them separately and put the auction price up :)

Defenders are not increasing in value. Speaking to people from around the country it's getting increasingly hard to sell them.
Anyway, @wireman I like your Landy, I think it's fairly priced and wish you luck with the sale.
Thank you, the ebay ad has had plenty of views - 2500 in the first 2 days and there are 100 'watchers' so hopefully it'll sell.

Best of luck, that is a fair price for that.

Watch out for the timewasters, and the dealers that will message you to tell you it is only worth 3000 quid, and the several who will try and find out where the vehicle is, in order that their mate can come and steal it later.

Yes ebay (or any second hand advertising for that matter) can be a blessing and/or a curse, it can attract a lot of legitimate buyers but also a fair share of crooks, idiots and chancers. I try and weed out timewasters by encouraging people to view a vehicle before bidding/making an offer. I would never part with my hard earned without viewing first.

Internet advertising is a nightmare. We have had countless people messaging to ask what is the "best price", without having seen the vehicle.
Personally, I would say, best price for me is 10k, what about you? :D

However, NB is more tolerant, so just ignores them.

For me, if someone won't ring the number given, and talk to us on the phone, they aren't a serious buyer.
