So...i am about to plug it in but it is not running any better...:confused:

It does the rough running on both fuels, petrol and lpg....which suggests either electrical, mechanical or electronic.

i have stripped all the plugs out and they are all fouled (black and sooty) and some of them were wet on the threads....

I have a spare set (that are known to be good) i am going to gap and pop in and see if it's any better.....

I will post what the computer (faultmate) says when i get it plumbed in....

Pretty low at the moment!

...ran better until plugs fouled, but still really, really rough.....

No fault codes!!!!

so might try compression test just in case its mechanical.........

Suggestions please...

...Just had a chat with the engine peeps and they think likely that its the Lambdas....

I have read that they have a life of around 100,000 miles so i think i will change them and see. Typically it's too late to do it today so will have to do in the morning..

The sooty plugs are usually sooty cos they are getting a spark and the wet plugs are usually wet cos they aren't sparking. Have you checked each plug is getting a good spark?

The garage are correct. Lambdas are the usual fault for a lean fuel mix. If you're getting it plugged into a diagnostic computer they often will show up as faulty on live data even if it doesn't throw up a fault code.

Well, everything is coated in soot, the pipes, the sensors and it stinks of unburnt fuel.
The sensors have been replaced at some point as they have the old landrover connectors grafed onto new (now old) sensors..

i will have another look in a mo at the live data and save it......thought i'd done that earlier....sorry about the photos....will try again...

Afternoon....

Replaced the lambdas as per our conversation yesterday....engine fault light now on,

really, really rough running, massive smell of unburnt fuel, no faults codes, hard brake peddle.......i am going to check sparks, but i think they're okay and the peddle thing makes me think its sucking air from somewhere else.

Does anyone have any info regarding what numbers i should be seeing as far as fuel trims and o2 nsensors movements should be or where i can get them.

Utterly fed up with it now......didn't think i would have this much hassle....why oh way did i not buy a 300tdi!?!?!?!?!?!?
