Hello guys purchased a Ford galaxy 2019 plate in September last year from a dealer, lovely car but sometimes it knocks on start up for a few seconds (but not every time) it sounds like valves or something although once hot it’s alright, since I am within the 6 month period of customer rights I’m tempted to call them about it, or Is it a waste of time? We haven’t thrashed the car at all only given it love really and apart from that it’s in good nick with only 55k on the clock anyways what do you guys think I should do?

I would go back to them now so it’s on record that you have raised the issue within the warranty period !! Good luck it though even if you do this, as most 2nd hand dealers, and main dealers for that matter will do their utmost to wriggle out of a claim.

Thanks mate I’ll get onto that this week

Thanks lynall what makes you think it an injector?
If it was mechanical I reckon the noise would be there sll the time.

Just had a truck engine in bits for a few days, and the moisture in the air done two of the injectors in, £830 each!
Had terrible knock when rebuilt, immediately thought uhoh what have I done wrong.

Spoke to one of the truck makers techs, he said quite common and what he does during engine work is remove all the injectors and leave them in a bucket of clean fuel to keep the air away from them, new one on me.

Hopefully I won’t need that knowledge anytime soon, but it’s good knowledge to have that’s for sure. Cheers.

Thanks mate sounds like a bit of a dilemma, you must of had a right head ache after that you think I should call the garage I got the car from though? Did the new injector solve it for you?

I think I managed to sort the issue, basically the oil system holds 7.5l of oil but when you drain it out and replace the filter you can only get out 6.5l so I used Forté engine flush then drained that oil, put in some cheaper fresh oil and new filter started the car for 10 mins then drained that oil, filled with better oil and another new filter now the oil is clean on the dipstick, put some Forté diesel treatment and taken it for a massive blow out at high revs and up some steep hills, the engine is much happier now thank you guys, i don’t think the car ever went past 3000rpm so giving it a really good thrashing with clean oil and diesel treatment seems to have made one hell of a difference
