Far from happy with Adrian Flux right now, I have been a loyal customer for the past 4/5 years with my Disco 300tdi I last renewed my insurance with them in August at a cost of £350 for my modified Disco so it was only just over 3 months back.

Yesterday I bought myself a nice 04 TD5 Landmark Disco totally standard so in my mind it should be cheaper, I am 52 with full no claims bonus and never had a point on my licence in my life.

I rang Flux Friday afternoon and told them I need my vehicle changing, ah your insurer (Trinity Lane) want too much money to change it, so we need to re-quote you. Few mins later they come up with the figure of £432.55 with Allianz but I can have back £148.88 on my old policy so I need only pay £283.75 today but remember I coughed up £350 in August. I declined and said I would get back to them.

I went on Compare the Meerkat and got the same cover including loss of keys etc for £248 and guess who with yes Allianz.

So I got back to Flux yesterday morning to cancel the old policy, they will only do it via email and now I only get back £88

So people make your own minds up about if you wish to use them in the future I certainly will not be!!!

THIS HAS NOW BEEN RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION

As a young driver, (22) a 50/50 claim, I was offered in excess of 2000 or 1400 with a box which limits mileage.
Checked with Admiral, and with a box with unlimited mileage and no curfew, 1100, not bad for my situation I have come to terms with. Luckily my insurance isnt due until March, but shopping around never looks great. I found out about the Admiral one with my friend at work, he is 19 years old! and owns a PORSCHE CAYMAN, pays 1100 on the box policy with less than a years experience and no no claims, (he gets his no claims soon I think)
The jist is, check out Admiral, if they do this for young people, maybe they will smash anything offered to you!

Yeah, it monitors your driving, basically, if you crash, and you're found to be speeding, I guess it invalidates your insurance and good stuff like that. I can't speed anyway, so im not bothered, I just look entirely at price.

Hi,

Would you mind sending me a PM so I can double check this for you?

As a side note, the vehicle being standard doesn't necessarily mean the policy will be cheaper as we are a modified car specialist.

Kind regards,
Jordan

Similar thing happend to me last year. Found a quote for my car £250 cheaper with Flux through Meerkat, rang em up and they reduced it accordingly. After a lot of phone calls and talking however.

The old Flux rep on here also help me out

I have had a phone call from customer service and we have agreed on a refund that I am ok with. They cannot insure my TD5 for less.

I have sent them an email to cancel my policy and that should be the end of it.

The Lady also explained in detail to me on why the quote was high and answered all the questions to my satisfaction. I will give top Marks to her.

Its a pain I have had all this bother to insure my new Disco as I was happy up until then.

So I am now as happy as I can be with the situation.

So, Flux will sort things for forum members who kick up a stink on here... but still f**k over every other customer.

Sorry, that doesn't wash for me, they are still loosing business for my 3 cars at the end of December when i renew them all. Will quite happily pay £500 more to NOT be with flux.
