Old, nackered 'n broke, but the Landy is fine . :)

Somewhere in 'a forest' .. I know some people will recognise the lane, but it ain't, sorry hadn't, been driven for a long while .. lots of tree cutting and moving obstacles and stuff ..

For those who don't like mud and ruts, and think we're destroying the lesser spotted tree frogs habitat, these are forestry lanes, not Byways as such, but still legally driveable. The main ruts are made by forestry vehicles, hence the 4' depth of some .. Landrovers merely scratch the surface.

Didn't remember to film the really great bits, too much else going on and to do! There were some deeper, steeper, wetter, stickier lanes later on and needed much winch and recovery action, much fun and mud!!

THE best weekends laning for a long while ;) Overdone words, maybe, but an EPIC day on Sunday especially ...

I should apologise for the sizes of the video .. I'd set the camera to 'economy' so the videos aren't HD or even close, sorry. Small mistake, won't happen again ..

looks like an awesome weekend :D

Those videos don't show the best bits, they were the first day. Sunday was way better, but doing so much I simply forgot to video anything!

But yes, not just awesome, it was epic .. ;)

Brilliant, looks like great fun :D:D

I thought you were still lost in the forest somewhere.

Totally epic, to coin a phrase .. ;)

Nearly .. just tired and working hard today, at work and home!

Again cracking vids paul, looks like loads of fun and a winch is a must!!

Definitely!

Nowhere for another Landy to pull you to or from! OK, nothing's impossible, but it'd be damned near to it without a winch.

I understand paul, when **** gets intense the last thing your thinking about is the bloody camera!

I love that yorks run but unfortunately just couldn't make it this time, I've not been on a weekender since the PnP in April iirc, that's TOO long!!!!

No sweat mate .. we found some completely new (to us) forestry tracks, even Rik and Tim with lockers in were getting stuck, so it was a bit like challenge cup stuff .. running with open winches, dragging ropes, very pleased we all have synthetic, so much easier to handle when the ****s going down!

We only pulled out a couple of trees though!! ;)

Indeed, it's mental in that forest!

Did you do them on the Sunday? Usually the car is ruined after that onslaught so using it as a camper van is less than ideal if you do them on the Saturday :p

Yeah, Sunday for the best ones.

Saturday in one forest, mostly dark mud and leaf mould, Sunday different forest, clay and sandy .. and very, very sticky mud!

TC'ds alternator said no, mine conked at home, as did my handbrake, I presume just full of mud, and my starter needs emptying too .. happy days .. :)

Great vids Paul. Awesome weekend.
Feel free to add to the tale of woes if I've forgot anything

Collectively...
THREE halfshafts snapped
One rear brake pipe ripped off
One knackered alternator
One clutch problem
All of us with blocked radiators. I limped to Pickering, stopping on every uphill to top up with water. I manged to jet wash the rad there.
Both my mud flaps ripped off
Mud in the cab higher than the transmission tunnel.

Possible alternator
Hand brake cable
Front offside indicator lens (bulb fine!)
Assorted dents!
Starter is actually fine now cleaned out .. and the alternator is looking hopeful after the battery was re-charged properly .. ;)

Quite good considering the lanes!
