Just got back from a weekend near Whitby .. Our lass had booked it early in the year, forgot about it .. so last minute job ..

Only did a few lanes, but found a little gem!

Had to do the fords at Grosmont, but quite low ..

Had a great time ..

Yeah, had a great time .. sunny, warm, cloudy in the mornings and ****ed down at night! Lovely ..

Lanes were empty, very wet so we turned round from a couple, but found one sweet lane about a mile long, across a moor (first picture). Stony track, but peat bogs each side so no off-piste, the pools were deep (we checked) and the land around was like a sponge, couldn't be walked on, and only just off the main Scarborough/Whitby road ..

Did you check out goathland where heart beat was filmed , up on the moors . great place around that area for a wkd break , lovely little coves etc.

Yeah, been a few times, in fact we stayed in the campsite opposite the garage a few years ago. The fords are just a couple of miles North of there, via Beck hole and 'behind' Grosmont.

ye done them , the little one with a footbridge at the side is normally quite deep . not far from the train station, where you can ride on the old steam trains , carnt remember the bloody name of the area.
