I just purchased a cambelt kit and the pulley and tensioner were in a blue box. Does anyone have a link to known decent kit please. It’s bloody hard to dodge blue boxes!!

LR original is £230 ...
I think the pulley etc are all from the same factory, mine was changed earlier this year and the blue parts looked very similar to original.

Did you replace with Brit parts mate?
Yes he called them blue parts, which is quite polite compared to what some say!

If a Britpart number ends in the letter G, the G means genuine then it is fair to say they are quite decent, of course everyone buys the cheapest of the cheap then moans when it goes wrong.

If that 230 is for the belt/tensioner and idler pulley, I would say that is not outrageous.

@resto_d1 - yes, Britpart

@lynall - I thought that too, still twice the price of the aftermarket OEM versions...
Yes, I have the non G britpart kit which I’m hesitant to fit. I asked someone else and they stated the allmakes kit bearing and idler are INA which are pretty reputable.

Did you guys fit the non G kits I.e. the cheapest? I don’t mind spending on a better kit as it’s not worth risking if quality is debatable. I’ve dodged britpart a lot due to stuff being crap, not fitting, **** seals etc

So part numbers with a g? It gets confusing trying to sort the lesser from the better!
Yep, as @lynall said, part numbers with suffix G are genuine. People buy the cheapest part from britpart and think its all shìte, they're a wholesaler really. Britpart supply Land Rover as well
