Lossie-Rover

Hi all,

Can anybody recommend a non dealer workshop for my TD4 Freelander in the Morayshire area.

I stay in Lossimouth and would appreciate any recommendations for workshops that are clued up with Land Rover. I realise that there is a dealer close but want to avoid the hourly rate.

Thanks

Theres a good place 5 miles out of Forres, on the Grantown road. Leave forres, heading towards grantown, and its on the Left about a mile after the big Valtra tractor workshop.
Its called Dunphail Garage. The owner is called Frank, he knows Land rovers inside out and deals with all the local game keepers / farmers in the area. Tell him Joe's mate Mike with the 110 sent you.

Another good garage is GLM in Elgin. They are busy, but very good. Owner is ex RAF.

If you're stuck in an emergency, Ace Tuning are only a stones throw away on Shore Street, but in my experience arent that good.

Just outside Lossie camp on the roundabout, is another decent garage, think its called Moray Motors.

I use Dunphail for all my servicing, repairs MOTS etc. The plus side of using the same garage for everything, is that he gets to know the car, and when you come to sell, although it wont have full LR history, at least it'll show you were picky about takin it to the same garage every time, not just whichever was easiest at the time...

PS, frank ogg aren't that good. Bloody expensive, thet have trouble finding parts for you on the computer, unless you get somebody else to give you a part number. Also, they wont give out part numbers for stuff, so that you can buy it cheaper elsewhere.

Maybe ???????????????

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the information, sounds like Dunphail is the best option. I need a service and x2 propshaft bearings replacing. I'm away until the end of the month so will pay them a visit then. Thanks again, Paul.
