howdy

when i start the engine the tappets are very very loud but get quieter once the engine has warmed up........and it is getting worse.

i thought they were hydraulic and should be quiet?

any ideas please?

ps. it's a Freelander xplate 1.8 with 70k

Try a quality engine flush followed by an oil and filter change (follow the instructions on the engine flush tin to the letter, don't use comma crap!), if that doesn't work then it'll have to have new tappets
